And it starts!

I am overjoyed to announce I have accepted a position as the Strategic Business Manager for Elden Street Players’ Industrial Strength Theater in Herndon, VA. My hiring represents the next phase in the organization’s future; I will be their first paid employee. I haven’t been this eager to start work on a project since I found out I would get to intern at Disney. (Yes, *that* excited!)

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity Elden Street Players (ESP) is giving me with this role–as it is the perfect starting place for work on my big hairy audacious mission.

The Elden Street Players’ Industrial Strength Theater is committed to providing affordable, high-quality theatrical productions to the diverse local suburban community.

“…and the pursuit of happiness.”

I just got turned down for a wonderful promotion… and that’s probably a good thing.

You see, while I was sitting through round after round of interviews for the position, I realized that I have wandered away from my passions.  You hear about this all the time, right?  Its been made into movies: picture Amy Adams in “Julie and Julia”.

Instead of being disappointed that I was rejected for a nice promotion, I’m going to see if this “follow your dreams” stuff really works. I’m going to take the plunge and see if following those nagging desires to create a legacy can actually work out.

I’ve worked and studied hard all along: now its time to run with it.

This is the story of leaving my life as a corporate finance guy… and making a living combining my two loves: the performing arts and hospitality.

“Moo with me!”
